Seeking Approaches to an Evolutionary Development: Case Study On Pattern Selecting of Technological Innovation in Chinese Mining Companies
Resource-based companies have been involved in an urgent developing dilemma between resource exploration and resource exhaustion, which requires multilevel readjustment in government policy, company strategy and specific technology research projects all over the world, especially in developing countries. Based on theories of devleoping strategy, this paper aims to disclose a sustainable access to a prospective development for Chinese mining company via pattern selecting of technological innovation. Technological innovation patterns are entailed along with the further understanding of the life circle of mining companies through which technological reform has been operated actively and effectively. In Chinese mining companies, four critical developmental stages are reviewed related to technology reform, namely, resource obtaining stage, resource exploring stage, balance producing stage and output declining stage. Followed that, a systematical analysis is examined, focusing on sustainable development of mining company. In case studies, three patterns of technological innovation are discussed respectively on the advantages and disadvantages in some famous mining companies home and abroad. Consequently, the abstract theoretical expounding is melted completely in individual practical problems in the process of the survival of mining companies. To conclude, a developing-oriented technological innovation is recommended to most Chinese mining companies after systematic analysis, rational choosing and related case studies.
